First we will talk about how to start compost (Basic explanation).
Bring two labeled pots in. One will have regular soil in it and the other will have compost-based soil.
The students will be able to pack this themselves from compost they already have and soil from the school grounds or bring pre-packed pots
A seed of the same sort will be placed in each pot and will be monitored through out the project.
A student each week will be assigned with watering the plants and another will be assigned as bookkeeper, noting any observations in the plants’ growth.
After the immediate potting, we will discuss how compost helps the plant life cycle.
